2007 UF GatorTRAX Mini-Institute

O-Force PRISM Project
O-Force is a business and education partnership, whose mission is to
meet the needs of Central Florida employers and employees by fostering and
facilitating development of a highly knowledgeable, skilled, productive,
responsible and diverse workforce.
The PRISM Project (Promoting Regional Improvement in Science and Math),
is a joint effort to improve student performance in math and science.
The math and science education campaign was unveiled at the Central
Florida Education Summit in April 2007.p>
Teachers who complete this "Train-the-Trainer"program will be qualified to train other
teachers in hands-on strategies for the mathematics classroom.

- Explore the role of learning and teaching styles in mathematics education
- Learn how to add kinesthetic teaching to your instructional toolbox without having to develop new curricula (including strategies for higher math)
- Collaborate with other educators in developing strategies for teaching culturally diverse students
- Experience engineering applications of hands-on mathematics
There is no teacher participation cost for this program.
