GatorTRAX Newsletter

May 2007

Engineering GatorTrax has finished its sixth school year. The program is presently in varied stages in participating counties. While the original GE Foundation grant has ended, the plan is to secure additional funding and expand the program into other Florida Districts as well as a number of sites in other states.

Over the years, Engineering GatorTrax has demonstrated a strong record of success. Participating students have seen higher math and FCAT scores, and several GatorTrax graduates have received scholarships to attend the University of Florida College of Engineering. Hundreds of teachers have participated in learning new hands-on training skills through the GatorTrax Teacher Training Program.

New partnerships with industry, schools, and regional community development groups are being formed. Parent, student, and teacher interest remains high, as evidenced by the phone calls and emails that come in each day. Please check the web site or contact us for updates on the Engineering GatorTrax Program.
